The city of Barrie has experienced incredible growth in 2016, in both its residential housing market and commercial market. The 45-acre empty lot in Barrie’s north end where Cuddles meets Duckworth, is well underway and now the home of North Barrie Crossing.
The site is primarily zoned for commercial use and some retail tenants have already opened for business over the last month; Zehrs, a Cineplex movie theatre and Shoppers Drug Mart to name a few. As we move into the fall, you will continue to see the site transforming as more retailers open.
Located on the western portion of the land, there will be a residential component to the North Barrie Crossing plan. Since the cancellation of the Mady Development MarketTown project, Pratt Homes has decided to move forward and launch The Junction Barrie Condos. This condo development will be a real hit!! With its close proximity to RVH, Georgian College, steps to retail shops and the 400, the demand for condos in this area is there. The condominium lifestyle is on the rise in Barrie and there aren’t enough condo complexes currently in Barrie’s northeast end to staisfy the current demand. Grand opening for The Junction Condos is scheduled for Saturday August 13th, 2016.
Not only is North Barrie Crossing going to be convenient for all the local residents but you will notice that demand for housing in the area will start to increase causing upward pressure on home prices in the surrounding area. This is one of the best developments to happen for the north east end.
